New Soul Calibur 4 Video Drills Down Features

Namco Bandai has delivered another Soul Calibur IV (PS3, 360) video detailing the various new features included in the upcoming one-on-one fighter sequel.

Supporting online play and a somewhat bizarre cameo roster, Soul Calibur IV is poised to hit retail shelves next week.

Porn Star Tera Patrick Joins Saints Row 2 Staff

In what is no doubt a blatant grab for publicity, the official Saints Row 2 website today announced that renowned adult film star Tera Patrick will be assisting as a "special producer" on the open-world action game.

The site teased that Patrick will be "bringing her one-of-a-kind touch to the project," but offered no details on her actual involvement. More information is expected to arrive on July 30, with a clock on the site currently counting down to that date.

Patrick marks the latest pseudo-celebrity to join the title's promotional campaign, which has featured the beloved Gary Busey in a number of trailers.

Bungie Working on 'Three Distinct Projects'

Halo creator and independent developer Bungie is currently at work on three different projects, the company has revealed.

"At the moment we do have three distinct projects underway within Bungie—some familiar, some not. Some on a closer horizon, some quite far off," a Bungie employee wrote on the developer's official website.

The studio noted that it has no plans to make any official announcements at next month's Penny Arcade Expo, but said that more information would be made available "when the time is right."

Publisher Microsoft confirmed last week that Bungie is indeed working on a new Halo title beyond its assistance with Ensemble Studios' RTS Halo Wars and the enigmatic (2008-07-25 13:12:00)

Rock Band DLC: Scars on Broadway, Staind, The New No. 2, Testament

Developer Harmonix today announced next week's batch of downloadable content for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions of Rock Band on the game's official forums.

Described by Harmonix as "a nice little cross section of tracks," the set includes:

  • Scars on Broadway - "They Say"
  • Staind - "This Is It"
  • Testament - "Electric Crown"
  • The New No. 2 - "Yomp"

The Scars on Broadway, Staind, and Testament tracks are priced at 160 Microsoft Points ($1.99) per download, while The New No. 2's "Yomp" is priced at 80 Microsoft Points ($.99). All four songs are master tracks.

The content will be available for download from the Xbox Live Marketplace beginning Tuesday, July 29. The PlayStation 3's online PlayStation Store will see the addition of the songs on the following Thursday, July 31.

Rush Hour Director Handling God of War Movie

Director Brett Ratner (X-Men: The Last Stand, Rush Hour series) has been named as the director for the film adaptation of Sony's deity-slaying action series God of War.

The tidbit was tucked away in a press release for the next RoboCop film, to be directed by Darren Aronofsky and written by David Self. Under Self's name, MGM noted that he "wrote 'God of War' for Universal, to which Brett Ratner is attached to direct."

Rumors had previously circulated of Ratner's involvement with the God of War film. Self's past writing work include the Road to Perdition screenplay and Thirteen Days.
