Losing Faith: Nintendo's Ignorance of the Hardcore

Like many, I was utterly bewildered by Nintendo's E3 2008 press conference. The missing "core" game announcement was disappointing, but not quite as unsettling as the unshakable notion that I was ultimately wrong about Nintendo's intentions towards gamers who've stuck with it since the beginning.

And as I walked out, I had the concentrated sense that as a longtime Nintendo fan, I was being forgotten, or at best, misunderstood.

Rise of the Argonauts Trailer Tells Story

Publisher Codemasters has released a new trailer for Rise of the Argonauts. Once against narrated by lead writer Rico Sablan, the latest vignette focuses on the action-RPG's "deep story" and supplies new in-game footage.

Ubisoft today issued new screenshots of From Software's Armored Core: For Answer (PS3, 360), confirming a September release date for the upcoming mech-building action sequel.

BioShock Creator Talks New 'Crazy Ambitious' Game, Levine 'Not Substantially' Involved in BioShock 2

Irrational Games co-founder and BioShock creator Ken Levine today began teasing details of his next project, which is separate from the 2K Marin-developed BioShock 2.

"It's going to be pretty crazy ambitious," he told videogaming247, adding that project is "not in the blue-sky period any more" and that the studio is "actually building design elements and building it out."

"It's important to us that whatever we do has the same impact on the gamer that BioShock did. And so, I think that the company's position on us and what we do is that we're going to be breaking down barriers and breaking down doors."
