Epic 'Defrauded' Developers with Unreal Engine, Says Silicon Knights

Silicon Knights president and founder Denis Dyack commented on the legal struggle between the Too Human (360) and Unreal Engine purveyors Epic Games, expressing optimism that "justice will be done" in the ongoing court battle.

"The trial is proceeding," Dyack told Develop. "We feel really good about our claims, and we're hopeful that justice will be done. We all feel really strongly that they have defrauded us, and a major portion of the industry."

The dispute centers around Silicon Knights' claim that Epic held off on delivering promised features in its Unreal Engine 3 middleware in order to focus on its own UE3-powered effort, Gears of War (PC, 360).

As previously announced by publisher Microsoft, Namco Bandai's Galaga Legions arrives on the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade platform this Wednesday.

Created by the team responsible for Pac-Man Championship Edition (360), Galaga Legions features a variety of new game dynamics, bright visuals and vast fleets of enemies striking in massive waves.

Galaga Legions will be priced at 800 Microsoft Points ($10) on the Xbox Live Marketplace when it debuts this Wednesday.

Armored Core: For Answer Arrives September 16, New Screenshots and Trailer Released

Publisher Ubisoft today announced that Armored Core: For Answer (PS3, 360), the latest entry in From Software's mech-tastic action series, will hit North American retailers on September 16.

Alongside the announcement, Ubisoft issued a new trailer and screenshots detailing the game's numerous customization components.

Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero World Tour, Rock Rev Get Instrument Cross-Compatibility on PS3

Sony has brokered an arrangement between the developers of Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Revolution to ensure instrument interoperability on the PlayStation 3, Sony Computer Entertainment PR director Michael Shorrock revealed.

"We have been working closely with Neversoft and Activision, Harmonix and Konami to ensure that PlayStation 3 guitars and drum sets will all feature a basic level of gameplay compatibility," Shorrock wrote on the PlayStation.Blog.

The director explained that both the drum kit and guitar from Neversoft's Guitar Hero World Tour will function with Harmonix's Rock Band 2, and vice versa. Drums and guitars from both titles will be compatible with Zoe Mode's Rock...

Dyack: Too Human Could 'Change the World' for Developer's Hometown

Silicon Knights founder and president Denis Dyack believes that the success of the studio's upcoming Xbox 360 action-RPG Too Human could have a profound effect on Niagara, Ontario, where the studio is based.

"If Too Human does what we expect it will [in the marketplace], then it can change the world for St. Catharines and Niagara," Dyack told the St. Catharines Standard.

Strong marketplace performance of Too Human would likely prompt further expansion at the studio, as well as help the city of Niagara grow a tech-oriented
