Shack PSA: Crysis Wars Free Weekend Starts Today

The free weekend for Crytek's multiplayer sci-fi shooter Crysis Wars kicks off today, allowing PC gamers to play online for free from now until Sunday night.

To play, simply grab the Crysis Wars executable from FileShack. While you're waiting for all 5GB to download, hit MyCrysis to register for the free key that enables online play.

Within the 5GB Crysis Wars download, you'll find:

• Three diverse multiplayer modes including InstantAction, TeamInstantAction and PowerStruggle
• 21 maps ranging from large battlefields to smaller, more intimate battlegrounds with a diverse array of settings ranging from beaches to graveyards
• All weapons and vehicles released within the Crysis Universe

Xbox 360 Gets Holiday Bundles, Free Games

Not content with the recent Xbox 360 price cuts, Microsoft has announced a series of holiday bundles that feature some free games.

The Arcade unit will pack Sega Superstars Tennis along with its previous 5 free Xbox Live Arcade games, while the Pro and Elite models sport LEGO Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda.

    Microsoft Talks Xbox 360 Blu-ray Rumors

    Rumors of a Blu-ray add-on for the Xbox 360 are once again swirling, and Microsoft has once again denied that it has any plans to release such a device.

    "As we've said before, Microsoft has no plans to introduce an Xbox 360 Blu-ray add-on," Microsoft told Edge. "Games are what drive consumers to purchase game consoles, and we remain focused on providing the largest library of blockbuster games available."

    At the least, this is the fifth time Microsoft has denied the persistent rumors that the Xbox 360 will receive an upgrade to enable Blu-ray movie...

    White Knight Chronicles Screenshots: Ohle!

    Furthering the media bonanza of the Tokyo Game Show are screenshots of Level-5's PS3-only role-playing game White Knight Chronicles, many of which are available in their full 720p resolution for the first time.

    

    Arriving in Japan on December 25 with an unspecified North American release following, the action-RPG sees otherwise normal humans transforming into stories-tall Knights. Along with the single player story, White Knight sports a separate four-person online mode in which players quest with multiplayer-only customized characters.

    Gears of War 2 Gone Gold

    Epic's cover-heavy action game Gears of War 2 (360) has gone gold--meaning it's complete and has entered the manufacturing process--and is now assured to hit its November 7 launch date, publisher Microsoft has announced.

    

    Along with the campaign story, which lets a second online or offline player drop in for cooperative play, the title also packs an ten-person multiplayer mode and the new Horde mode, allowing up to five online players to cooperatively battle against AI opponents.
