Epic: Xbox 360 Nearing Graphical Limit

Developers could soon hit the limits of the Xbox 360's graphics hardware, guessed senior Epic employee Rod Fergusson.

"I think we're certainly approaching the upper end of it, as far as what developers are able to do with it," Fergusson told Gamasutra. In the near term, gamers are covered: "There will be games in development that won't ship until 2010, and I'm sure they'll look killer," he assured.

SOCOM PS3 Public Beta Delayed

The Shacknews delay tag has gotten another workout today as Slant Six's PS3 online shooter SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation had its public beta test pushed back a few days.

The "good news," according to the SOCOM website, is that the final game is still on track for its October 14 release.

Ninja Blade Cuts Up Tokyo on 360

The veil of shadow has finally come off the long-rumored Ninja Blade, revealing the title to be a ninja-themed hack-and-slash action game from Otogoi and Metal Wolf Chaos veterans From Software.

Due out next year as a Microsoft-published Xbox 360 exclusive, the game will pack fast-paced cutscenes and high-tension action set in a faithful rendering of famous parts of Tokyo, going by an IGN interview.

The first details were accompanied by the above screenshots, with more information expected to arrive...
